The Beer Muscles 2022 was held at 2SP Brewing Company, Aston, PA 19014. The event was held both indoors and outdoors! Seventy-eight athletes competed on-site at 2SP Brewing Company for the 6th annual Beer Muscles competition. It was a hot but beautiful day for competitors to complete 5 events: keg clean & press, Viking press, sled push & arm-over-arm medley, max Ukrainian keg deadlift, and Strongman Cornhole! Highlights included an awesome performance by teen athlete Cody Shanley. It was 14-year-old Cody’s first sanctioned competition, and he pulled an impressive (and very easy!) 330lbs on the Ukrainian keg deadlift! The heaviest lift of the day was a 700lbs pull by SHW competitor Curtis Peters. The heaviest women’s lift came from Novice competitor Jamie Crisafulli who pulled 350lbs to secure the first of her FIVE event wins, sweeping the division – time to graduate to open! The crowd favorite of the day was a flawless Strongman Cornhole performance by Novice MW Dan Litz. Dan threw all 4 bags (weighted to 40lbs) a distance of 25ft for a perfect score on the event. This year’s competition also served as a fundraiser for the Delaware County Special Olympics Powerlifting Team. Together we raised $2,300 for the team! This came from a combination of raffling off prizes from our generous sponsors, a dunk tank, and donations from attendees. Thanks to MB Slingshot, the team also received a box of equipment including singlets, wrist wraps, hip circles, and more! Coaches and members of the team had a blast at the competition (and in the dunk tank!), and everyone was stoked to help them with funding. This is the 6th year for Beer Muscles!
