Our goal is to provide quality Strongman competitions for the public while ensuring equal treatment for the competitors. We do all that we can to make sure our athletes have plenty of opportunities to use their memberships by regularly updating them with a list of current competitions.

Ownership
James Deffinbaugh
James began his competitive career in 2007 and has an impressive record in the strongman community. His first Nationals run was in 2009 finishing in 7th place in the under 200lb category, followed by a move up to middleweight, placing 4th at Nationals in 2011, 3rd in 2013, and finally earning his pro card with a win in 2014. His achievements continued with a 1st place win at America’s Strongest Man 105kg in 2017, followed by 3rd place in 2019, and 2nd place in 2021.
As the founder of Spider Strength Gym, James has cultivated an environment that has produced eight Strongman Corporation pros, numerous Arnold competitors, and many top powerlifters. His innovative approach led him to invent Spider Tack, a leading tacky brand in strongman. Spider Tack gained mainstream attention when Major League Baseball pitchers started using it to enhance their grip and improve their performance.
James began volunteering at Strongman Corporation national and world-level competitions in 2018, starting with America’s Strongest Man and Woman as a scorekeeper. He played a pivotal role in implementing live score updates on the internet, a first in the sport. His role expanded to scorekeeping at Amateur Nationals in 2019, and he soon took on more responsibilities in planning and logistics for Strongman Corporation shows. James also began designing and fabricating equipment for these events, including the Giant Log Viking Press, Hummer Tire setup, adjustable throwing apparatuses, adjustable Viking Press, and Hammerhead Farmer’s Implements. His innovative designs have been used at the Arnold Pro Strongwoman, Arnold Amateur, Nationals, America’s Strongest Man and Woman, and Official Strongman Games. Notably, he created the reconfigurable Power Stairs / Loading Platforms / Ukrainian Deadlift apparatus, showcased on the main stage of the Arnold in 2023 and various other major competitions.
In recent years, James has ventured into live streaming strongman events, including the 2022 Strongman Corporation Amateur Nationals and the 2022 and 2024 Strongman Corporation Southeast Regionals.
James remains an active competitor in both powerlifting and strongman. He recently competed at America’s Strongest Man 105kg and aims to break some all-time masters world records in powerlifting.
