Strongman Corporation Licensing Regulations
A Strongman Corporation (SC) state representative must attend all competitions at every competition level. State representatives are volunteers appointed by the SC home office to act as official representatives within their state and beyond. They are responsible for assisting promoters with the competition process in their state.
Promoter Requirements
- Eligibility and Licensing
- All promoters are welcome to host SC events but must work through an SC state representative.
- Promoters must pass a criminal background check to ensure member safety. The background check will be conducted by Checkr, an independent service. SC will only be notified of offenses relevant to the licensing process.
- Once cleared, the event will be listed on the SC events page.
- Competition Operations
- Promoters must ensure sufficient staff is available, including loaders, spotters, scorekeepers, and other essential personnel, to run the competition efficiently.
- SC state representatives will assist promoters but are not responsible for running the event.
- Competition Participation
- Promoters may not compete in their own competitions.
- If an SC state representative wishes to compete, they may do so only in the capacity of a competitor and not as an SC representative during the event.
- Promoter Obligations to the State Representative
- Promoters must provide lodging and transportation for the SC state representative assigned to their contest.
- A $100 travel fee is required for the SC representative, whether they are driving or flying, to compensate for their time.
- If driving, the SC representative will receive $0.50 per mile for fuel. If flying, the promoter must cover the cost of the airline ticket and lodging if necessary.
- Every SC competition must have an SC representative present, or the event’s licensing will be forfeited. If a state representative cannot attend, they must work with the promoter to secure a qualified SC representative as a replacement.
- Event Results
- If competition results are posted on the event website (e.g., via IronPodium), no further action is required.
- If results are not posted online, they must be emailed to admin@strongmancorporation.com within five days of the competition. This ensures SC National qualifiers are tracked and athletes can view their results.
- Membership Verification
- Promoters must verify all athletes’ SC memberships during check-ins.
- Athletes may hold one of the following membership types:
- Standard Membership
- Teen Membership
- Pro Athlete Membership
- State Representative Membership
- Staff Membership
- Athletes can access their membership information on the SC website under “Membership” by selecting “View your membership here!”
Weigh-Ins
Weigh-ins can be conducted up to 24 hours prior to the competition start time. Exact time and location of weigh-ins is up to the promoter.
All athletes must weigh in with some kind of clothing. At minimum, all athletes must wear underwear that covers the genitals; and women must wear a sports bra or similar chest covering. Athletes can wear more clothing if they’d like.
At Local, Regional, and National competitions all weigh-ins should be conducted in pounds. At international competitions, weigh-ins will be conducted in kilograms.
- For competitions hosted in pounds, there is a 0.4lbs allowance for rounding as well as a 0.4lbs allowance for clothing; this results in a total 0.8lbs allowance for each class. (Ex. a u175 man must weigh in at 175.8lbs or less)
- For competitions hosted in kilograms, there is no “allowance” above the designated weight. Athletes must weigh in at exactly their weight class or below.
In the instance that weight classes are combined, athletes will need to weigh in under the weight of the heavier class.
